Garbage & Yard Waste

Please do not place your garbage at the curb days before pickup as birds and other animals may create an unsightly mess in your community.
NEW in 2024!!
Changes to the Yard Waste Collection Schedule
Bi-weekly yard waste collection will alternate with homes on the west side of Main Street collected one week and the homes on the east side of Main Street collected the following week.
West of Main Street will have their first collection of the season on May 6. East of Main Street will have their first collection of the season on May 13.

Yard waste must be placed in an eligible container such as a brown paper bag, cardboard box or other reusable container in good condition, without a lid.  Reusable containers without a lid will be emptied however, the Contractor nor the Municipality will be held liable for any damages or loss of container. Yard waste containers should not exceed 22kg (50lbs).

Tied bundles of branches may be placed beside the containers or yard waste bags if the bundle is less than 22kgs (50lbs) and branches are less than one meter (39 inches) long 10cm (four inches) in diameter.

Please ensure that you have your garbage cart and yard waste spaced properly at the curb by 7:00am.

How to place your black cart for collection:
  • Place the cart with the back wheels against the curb or edge of the road
  • Point the cart with the lid opening towards the center of the road or lane.
  • Space them one arm's length clearance (one meter or 39 inches) on all sides of the cart.  This is to allow enough room for the collection truck to grab your cart.
  • Look up—avoid placing your cart under hydro or telephone wires, basketball hoops, awnings and tree limbs
