Registrations for ALL the Recreation Programs offered by the RM of West St. Paul will be done ONLINE through the Univerus Program Registration System.

To register, you must have an active client account.  You must CREATE a new Client Account if you have never used the system before.  After you create an account, an email will be sent to the email address provided to activate your account. 


***For parents/guardians enrolling children into programs please be sure to create a Family Account with yourself as the billing client and your children as family members.***


If you have signed up for a Program/Waiting List during the Fall 2024 Program Session, you WILL have an active Account.  You would need to Log-On with the Email Address and Password you entered when you created your Account.

Wednesday Drop-In Basketball!

FREE Ski Library

Borrow skis for free if you need them and try out a freshly groomed ski trail.
Kick sleds and snowshoes available to try too! Great for groups of
friends and families. Great for individuals who want to learn.

Yoga
Join us for a 1hr "flow” class which will focus on the practice of Vinyasa Yoga, which strings poses together to link movement with breath, anchor you and form the connection between the mind and body. Get a great workout with one of the most popular styles of Yoga, which can be modified to the participant’s specific level of practice. Please wear comfy clothes you can move in, bring a yoga mat & water bottle. Instructor: Heather Bailey

 Baby & Me Yoga
 
Join Katrina for Baby & Me Yoga! This is a great class to connect with your baby and other Mama’s. In this Baby and me yoga class parents will learn basic yoga postures and breath work. This yoga class will help strengthen your pelvic floor and core muscles. You will learn a sequence of yoga poses with and without your baby.

This is a fun class with lots of smiles and baby giggles. Perfect for babes 8 weeks - 12 months.

Parent & Tot Yoga
 
Join Katrina for Parent & Tot Yoga! Parent and Tot yoga is the perfect class for you and your little yogi to learn beginner yoga posses (Asanas) together in a fun and creative environment.
In this class you will learn a sequence of floor and standing poses for you and your little yogi to practice together. This class will also focus on breathing and mindful relaxation techniques. This is a fun and creative class that will bring lots of smiles and laughter. 
This class is perfect for tots 2-5 years old. Please bring a yoga mat for you and your little yoga and some water to stay hydrated.

ZUMBA
Ditch the workout and join the PARTY! Check out this dance fitness class that will keep your feet movin’ & your body shakin’ to the beat. Zumba is a fitness program that integrates cardio and Latin inspired dance to burn calories, improve cardiovascular health while toning the body.

Functional Fitness for Women 50+

his program is tailored for women aged 50+ who are ready to begin a fitness routine. It’s the perfect introduction for beginners aiming to boost health and improve their overall well-being. The class will feature strength training and mobility exercises, with modifications provided to accommodate all fitness levels and abilities. It’s never too late to get started with exercise! Please wear comfy clothes you can move in and bring a water bottle. Classes will be held in the gymnasium.

Mindful Movement - Chair Yoga

This program is specifically designed for seniors dealing with physical limitations, such as joint or muscle weakness, or reduced mobility. It focuses on strengthening and stretching muscles to enhance strength, flexibility, and posture. Exercises can be performed either seated or standing, with modifications provided to accommodate all fitness levels and abilities. Please wear comfy clothes you can move in and bring a water bottle. Class will be held in the Mezzanine.

Kids Cooking Class

Each session will have a different theme and recipe. Children will learn the basics of food preparation, kitchen safety and cooking/baking techniques to create tasty items!

Children will create a keep’s sake recipe book over the 6 weeks to share with friends and family!

Cookie Decorating Workshops
 
Cookie decorating workshop! Cookies and other supplies are all provided. Each participant will get 6 cookies to decorate and take home!

You can opt to transfer your spot to another person if you are unable to make it. You are also welcome to pick up your cookie kit if you are unable to make the class at the last minute.

Refunds will be subject to a $15 administration fee; credits will be the full amount.

Baby Sitting Course 

Help your child build valuable skills for a lifetime.

 As a trained babysitter, your child will learn:

 

  • Basic skills to care for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children
  • How to care for himself/herself and siblings when home alone
  • How to create a safe environment, and deal with phone calls and unexpected visitors
  • How to react confidently in case of an emergency, such as choking, bleeding, poisoning, or burns
  • How to cope with common problems, such as tantrums and crying
  • Games and activities to keep kids of all ages entertained
  • How to manage a babysitting business, including creating a resumé  and a business card, and asking the right questions before accepting a  babysitting job

 

Course Features:

 

  • Developed for youth 11 to 15 years of age
  • Can be completed in one day or in sections over several days/weeks
  • Focuses on five main areas: child caregiving, first aid, injury prevention, leadership, and business skills
  • Youth learn through interactive, fun activities, and problem-solving scenarios and practice
  • Participants receive the Canadian Red Cross Babysitter’s Manual,  which includes key information on caring for kids of different ages, as  well as an emergency contact form, sample resumés, business cards,  glossary, and more
  • Participants receive a wallet card that confirms they have completed the course

Stay Safe Course

For youth 9 to 11 years of age. (Must be 9 years of age or have completed grade 3)


 Course Outline

Real-world scenarios often call on children to respond to challenges. The Stay Safe!  program teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills, while increasing  and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve his or her own safety.  Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given  better tools to Stay Safe! in a variety of different situations.


Course Content

 

  • Importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself
  • Importance of setting and following rules around safety when staying on your own
  • How to stay safe at home and within the community
  • How to prepare, recognize and respond to unexpected situations, (i.e. inclement weather, strangers, unanticipated visits) 
  • First Aid Content:
    • Check, Call, Care (includes phoning EMS/911), recovery position,  conscious choking (adult/child/alone), feeling unwell, asthma (includes  use of inhaler and spacer), anaphylaxis (includes use of EpiPen),  poisoning, insect stings, wound care (i.e. minor cuts and scrapes,  splinters, nosebleeds, bumps and bruises, life-threatening bleeding,  burns)

Stroller Fitness

Do you want to have fun while working out with your baby and/or young child(ren)? Each Stroller Fitness class includes cardio drills, strength training, flexibility, pre/postnatal-specific core exercises, and a few movement-based songs for the babies. These classes also provide an opportunity to connect with other parents! Who: This is an all-levels class and is perfect for women returning to fitness after baby, for prenatal moms, and for anyone looking to workout with a baby or young child(ren) in tow! Women should be at least 4 weeks postpartum (or 6 weeks for c-sections). Dads and other caregivers are welcome to attend!

Participants are asked to bring their own equipment. Please bring a yoga mat, a set of dumbbells (between 5-8lbs is a good starting weight), and a water bottle. Extra sets of dumbbells will be available to borrow if needed. Also make sure you are wearing athletic footwear and comfortable workout clothes.

Class will be held in the Gymnasium

Instructor: Shannon. Instructors are certified group fitness instructors through the Manitoba Fitness Council with pre/postnatal specialization.
