Emergency Preparedness

The RM of West St. Paul has an Emergency Plan in place that is reviewed annually. This document guides local responses to emergency and disaster situations in a manner that prioritizes:
  • The prevention or limitation of the loss of life
  • The prevention or limitation of the loss of property
  • The prevention or limitation of damage to the environment
  • The restoration of essential services
The Plan provides clear roles and responsibilities, response guidelines and outlines existing local resources. The compilation of information supports quick responses and reduces confusion during situations where every moment can count. In addition to this, the RM routinely meets with neighbouring emergency responders and takes part in training opportunities.
 
It is important for not only the Municipality to be prepared in advance, but for individuals and families to be as well.
