West St. Paul COPP (Citizens on Patrol)

copp
Did you know West St Paul has its own chapter of COPP which started in 2011.

As part of the Manitoba Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) this community based crime deterrent initiative is growing with now 40 other groups in Manitoba. The success of the program over the last 25 years has demonstrated having an active citizen’s crime prevention program in the community, is an effective deterrence to crime. The WSP COPP is supported by the RM of West Paul, in addition to our local businesses who have shown their support with donations to our program. COPP is endorsed by law enforcement agencies throughout the provinces. COPP volunteers in West St Paul actively watch for criminal or suspicious activities and report such occurrences to the RCMP. Patrollers are identifiable by their highly reflective yellow vests with the COPP logo as well as blue lettered decals on the doors of their vehicles. The patrols are random at any time of the day or night. If you are interested in preventing crime and helping keep our community safe by volunteering for only a few hours a month, consider becoming a COPP member. Members are required to clear a criminal record search. The fee for this is waived for COPP applicants. All members will receive training and equipment provided by the Provincial COPP organization. Patrol times and locations are extremely flexible. Patrol at whatever time works best for you. Vehicle patrol mileage expenses are covered. For more information about the COPP program either go to https://www.citizensonpatrolmb.ca/ or email info@wspcopp.com for a meeting request.

Please consider volunteering in this program to assist keeping West St Paul Safe. To become a volunteer member and participate in COPP please contact: Murray Luschinski, Group Coordinator West St Paul COPP (Citizens on Patrol Program) Email: info@wspcopp.com
