West St. Paul Remembrance Day Service 2022

The RM of West St. Paul held its annual Remembrance Day Service Nov. 11 and paid tribute to local veterans.

Donald Blain piped in the procession of dignitaries, including Mayor and Council along with flagbearers Lynne Stevenson, whose father Alfred Oakley and his three brothers, Bill, Ed and Hudson, were West St. Paul veterans, with granddaughters Lily and Kylie.

Bev Bragg, who organizes the Remembrance Day service with Recreation Director Damara Geddes, gave the opening prayer and served as emcee for the service.

Resident Dorothy Drescher spoke about the history of Rivercrest and Declan Campbell read the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’.
