Position Objectives:
What You’ll Do
As a Community Safety Officer, you’ll enforce municipal by-laws and select provincial statutes, patrol the community, investigate complaints, and promote public safety through education and engagement.
- Enforce municipal by-laws and applicable provincial statutes
- Patrol the community and investigate alleged breaches
- Issue warnings, tickets, and prepare reports for court proceedings
- Attend court as required and provide accurate testimony
- Promote awareness and compliance through education and outreach
- Collaborate with RCMP and other enforcement partners
- Maintain accurate records and prepare status reports
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum Grade 12 education with 1–3 years of experience in enforcement or security
- Completion of a recognized Community/By-Law Officer training program or willingness to obtain
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, RCMP security clearance and driver’s abstract required
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to write clear and accurate reports, competent with Microsoft Office and enforcement software
