Join the RM of West St. Paul as a Parks and Facilities Attendant, where you'll play an important role in maintaining municipal buildings, parks, recreation facilities, open spaces, playgrounds, trails, and outdoor amenities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in keeping public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming, and is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors year-round.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Perform custodial and general maintenance duties in municipal buildings and facilities.
  • Carry out grounds maintenance including mowing, aeration, fertilization, seeding, irrigation, snow clearing, and debris removal.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, ice resurfacers, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Assist with event set-up and take-down at municipal facilities.
  • Perform basic repairs, painting, carpentry, and related maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain outdoor rink facilities and assist with ice-making and rink maintenance activities.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum Grade 12 education and two years of related experience.
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • Skill and experience operating maintenance equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied weather conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and follow instruction.
  • Clear Drivers Abstract, Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.
