What's the difference between the By-Law Enforcement Officer and a Community Safety Officer?

The By-Law Enforcement Officer primarily focuses on administering and enforcing municipal by-laws.

Community Safety Officers can also enforce municipal by-laws but have additional public safety responsibilities and authority under provincial legislation, including specific provisions of The Highway Traffic Act. This allows CSOs to conduct traffic enforcement, vehicle stops and issue tickets for offences within their authority.
