Join the RM of West St. Paul as a Parks and Recreation Attendant, where you’ll play an important role in maintaining municipal buildings, parks, recreation facilities, open spaces, and outdoor amenities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in keeping public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming, and is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors year‑round.
What You’ll Do
Under the direction of the Facilities and Parks Manager, you will support the operation and maintenance of recreation facilities, administrative and operations buildings, parks, green spaces, playgrounds, and sports fields. Key responsibilities include:
Perform custodial and building maintenance duties in municipal facilities.
- Carry out grounds maintenance including grass cutting, irrigation, seeding, snow clearing, and debris removal.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as commercial mowers, tractors, ice resurfacers, and small engine tools.
- Support event setup and complete basic repairs, painting, and carpentry as needed.
- Follow workplace safety practices and report maintenance or safety issues.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum Grade 12 education and two years of related experience.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Skill and experience operating maintenance equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied weather conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and follow instructions; clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.
