Payments can be dropped off:

  • In the drop-box outside the RM of West St. Paul Municipal Office at 3550 Main St. West St. Paul
  • In the mailbox slot of the office door at the Sunova Centre

Learn the foundational poses & basic relaxation techniques integral to a traditional hatha based yoga practice. Asana, sound, breath & meditation will be used to release trapped emotional energy, connect with intuitive insights and ground ourselves in the body. All levels and body shapes welcome. Movin’ & Groovin’ - Cardio Fitness Class (Formerly Moving with Muscle) 
Enjoy the music, have some fun and get some exercise!  This class will keep your body moving with low-impact cardio, upper body and core strengthening exercises, ending with a section to improve balance and stability. Stroller Fitness with Peg Family Fitness!

When: This class runs Mondays at 1:30pm at Sunova Recreation Centre in West St. Paul. This indoor fall session has 8 classes starting on October 17th and ending on December 5th. 

What: Do you want to have fun while working out with your baby and/or young child(ren)? Each Stroller Fitness class includes cardio drills, strength training, flexibility, pre/postnatal-specific core exercises, and a few movement-based songs for the babies. These classes also provide an opportunity to connect with other parents! 

Who: This class is perfect for women easing back into fitness after baby, for prenatal moms, and for anyone looking to workout with a baby or young child(ren) in tow! Women should be at least 4 weeks postpartum (or 6 weeks for c-sections).  This class will be taught by Peg Family Fitness instructor Becky. Instructors are certified group fitness instructors through the Manitoba Fitness Council.

Where: This class meets in the gym at Sunova Recreation Centre at 48 Holland Rd. in West St. Paul. 

What to bring: Participants are asked to bring their own equipment. Please bring a yoga mat, a set of dumbbells (between 3 and 8 pounds is a good starting weight), and a water bottle. Dumbbells will be available to borrow if needed. Also make sure you are wearing proper footwear and comfortable workout clothes.

The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth ages 11-15yrs old.  Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups and how to prevent and respond to emergencies.  The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families. Course Content: How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership; How to make good decisions & manage difficult behaviours; Info on children’s development & specific strategies for each stage; How to feed, diaper, dress and play with children & babies; How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours; First aid skills; The business of babysitting
 
STAY SAFE Course - Prerequisite: 9-12yrs (or completion of Gr. 3)

Real-world scenarios often call on children to respond to challenges.  The Canadian Red Cross Stay Safe course teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills, while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve his or her own safety. Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given better tools to Stay Safe! in a variety of different situations. Course Content: The importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself; The importance of setting and following safety rules when on your own; How to stay safe at home and within the community; How to prepare for, recognize and respond to unexpected situations (e.g., inclement weather, strangers, and unanticipated visits); Basic first aid skills
