LEARN TO KNIT SERIES
Instructor: Heather Bailey
Our Learn to Knit Series is expanding due to popular request! This year we will be completing two wearable pieces:
Session #1: Learn to Knit - Mittens
Learn how to knit a pair of mittens - just in time for the cold Manitoba weather! We will tackle a no non-sense basic mitt pattern that will increase your knitting skills, but will still be easy to follow. After this session you will realize that there is nothing like slipping on a cozy pair of hand-made mittens!
Mondays - October 21st-November 18th (No Class: November 11th) - 6-8pm
Session #2: Learn to Knit - Socks
Socks! You can’t have too many of them. Learning how to make a pair of socks is the natural progression after learning how to knit mitts (but not required!). Socks are knit in the round just like mittens, but require a little more finesse around the toe and the heel. Once one sock is done, there is a good chance you will become a sockaholic in the making!
Mondays - November 25th-December 16th - 6-8pm
You must provide own supplies for each Session!
A Supply List will be provided to those that register
Each Session stands on its own, so feel free to only sign up for one of them or choose to sign up for both! Each project will be completed based on how fast your knitting pace is and how you grasp the skills that will be shown. A basic knowledge of the knit and purl stitch would be helpful! Come join us for a great evening of socializing and knitting at the Sunova Centre!
