Residents reminded to exercise caution near heavy equipment in and around Trails of West St. Paul subdivision

The RM has recently received numerous inquiries regarding the heavy equipment activity at the new Trails of West St. Paul subdivision at Main Street and the northeast corner of the Perimeter Hwy.

Residents should be aware that many new homes are under construction in Phase 1, and the developer has started work on Phase 2 within the development. Work currently underway includes underground servicing and building new roads.

All roads and underground work must meet Provincial regulations as well as Municipal engineering specifications.

Currently West St. Paul builds all roads to the City of Winnipeg’s new road construction specifications. These specifications meet or exceed Canadian road building industry standards.

The developer is responsible for 100% of all costs of the infrastructure within the development.

All road works and underground works and other infrastructure work within the area being developed are inspected by Professional licensed Engineers. The roads and underground infrastructure (water mains and sewers) are subject to verification that all completed work meets or exceeds the specified engineering standards prior to being accepted by the RM of West St. Paul.

The final acceptance of the roads and underground infrastructure by the RM only occurs after a one-year warranty period.

The RM encourages anyone driving or walking in the area to exercise caution, as there is heavy equipment at use within the development and also on the nearby highways.
