West St. Paul Stars Peewee A baseball team wins city championship!

After a great season in the North Winnipeg league finishing first with a 13-1 record, the U13 boys baseball team won the regional tournament going 4-0. They followed it up with the City qualifying tournament and again went 4-0 to make the city title game. Against Chalmers CC, the Stars had a great team effort and won 12-3 to win the city championship! This group of boys demonstrated great enthusiasm for practice and an unparalleled desire to learn and improve. It is true that "defense wins championships" as the team allowed a total of 14 runs against in 5 city championship games! Pitching and defense were the backbone of this team.

Well done boys, you should all be very proud of a great result. You should however be more proud of your work ethic and true team sportsmanship – every member of this team contributed to a fantastic season.

Congratulations boys!
